'Spooky Girl'

This video above is lit by me. My friend created the concept for his Horror Film Reel and asked me to help compose the scene. He wanted the girl to be entirely silhouetted with the remaining light tinted with CTO (orange gel). We mounted a light from the ceiling, cut out some "cookies" for the chiaroscuro effect, and flooded the remaining space with back lights, geling them all. My friend then edited it, adding some special effects, and this clip here is the final product!

'Boogedy" Remake â€‹

This video was inspired by the Disney movie "Mr. Boogedy". We remade a specific scene and focused on the flood of blue light. It was a three light set-up gelled with CTB (two back lights, one front light). We also had a practical light (candle) and some smaller supplemental floor lights. It was a lot of fun to make and we practiced our improvisational skills when we realized we needed to create a dolly effect. I handheld stabilized our Canon EOS 5 as our other friend pushed me on a rolling office chair... not too shabby.

Below this text blurb is the overall Shot Designer layout of what we were getting at!

"The Interrogation"

This was a short video my club (Film Creators Society) and I worked on for lighting practice. We used an 8x8 soft box mounted above this table scene and crafted up a comical script to fit. The soft box lights were at about 30% with a temp around 4100K. We had some back lights and key lights to create a halo behind our actor being interrogated.

The script highlights dissociative disorder through a Good Cop and Bad Cop character, and how both personalities work in unison.

The color correction and grade was the fun part. I added some vignettes for a heavier, intense look and graded to a more greenish tone.
